Our Process
SIPs, (Structural Insulated Panels) are one of the most advanced building systems available today. These panels are made up of a rigid insulation core bonded between two sheets of oriented strand board (OSB), creating a structure that’s strong, lightweight, and incredibly energy-efficient.
At Seviour Timber Frames, we use SIPs for both homes and light commercial buildings. The panels are pre-cut and prepared in our workshop before arriving on site, which means we can assemble them quickly and cleanly, often getting the building watertight in a matter of days.
Why Choose SIP Panels?
SIPs offer up to 50% better thermal performance than conventional timber or masonry builds. That means lower heating bills and a warmer, more comfortable home, all year round. They also contribute toward net-zero and passive house standards.
Because the structure is so airtight, ventilation can be controlled and filtered. This helps reduce allergens, moisture, and pollutants inside the home. Plus, with precise off-site fabrication, there’s far less waste compared to traditional builds.
Every SIP panel is engineered to exact standards before it leaves the factory. That speeds up site work and reduces delays. Less time on site means lower costs for labour, scaffolding, and project management.
